Five Attainable Travel Resolutions for 2014
Wednesday, January 1, 2014
Do you want to hike around the globe in 2014? That would be an amazing New Year’s resolution, but it’s a big one to take on. If that seems a little too far out of reach, we have some ideas for travel resolutions that are more attainable for your lifestyle. These resolutions may seem small, but they will make a big difference in how you travel!
1. Plan and pack your suitcase in advance
Waiting until the last minute to pack your suitcase isn’t always a good idea. You are more likely to forget important items or perhaps pack too many unnecessary items. Make sure your suitcase is full with the things you need and nothing more by starting a packing list a week in advance. This will give you time to do laundry, purchase anything missing from the list, and take out any items that you realize will not be needed.
2. Only pack carry-on bags when you fly
When you plan and pack only what you need, you may find that you have fewer – or smaller – bags. Packing only a carry-on bag for short trips means saving money at the airport and not having to waste time waiting at baggage claim. Your New Year’s resolutions are already paying off!
3. Become a Club Carlson℠ member
Enrolling in this global hotel rewards program provides you with exceptional benefits and services at over 1,000 Carlson Rezidor hotels worldwide. Why not earn free stays when you travel? You can earn points on eligible hotel nights and on meals and beverages charged to your room at participating hotels. If you complete this resolution, you will reap the benefits for years to come.
4. Cross one destination off your travel bucket list
Pick one destination that’s been on your travel “bucket list” for a while and start planning your trip. Don’t put this off until tomorrow, because the year will pass you by before you know it! This trip can be a fun weekend getaway, a weeklong family vacation, or an international adventure – whatever you want it to be. Use the Country Inns & Suites By Carlson destination map to help plan your 2014 trip!
5. Take a trip with someone new
