Country Inns & Suites celebrates its own Final Four in TampaThe road to the Final Four is not headed to Indianapolis, but rather Tampa, Fla. which is home to the fourth and newest 65-room Country Inn & Suites, Tampa Airport North. The brand has developed a major presence in the Southeast, including 38 hotels opened or signed in Florida. The opening supports Country Inns & Suites By Carlson’s plan to add another 250 hotels in key target markets including the United States, Canada, Mexico and India over the next five years as part of Carlson’s Ambition 2015 global growth strategy.
“Having recently announced the milestone of our 500th hotel, representing a remarkable success for the brand, the addition of our fourth Country Inns & Suites property in the greater Tampa/St. Petersburg contributes to our overall plans to accelerate the growth of the brand in North America and intensify our footprint in existing markets,” said Steve Mogck, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Country Inns & Suites.

The city ranked by Forbes as the 5th best outdoor city in 2008. The four-county area of Tampa is composed of roughly 2.7 million residents, making it the second largest metropolitan statistical area in the state, and the fourth largest in the Southeastern U.S., behind Miami, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.
Country Inns & Suites offers caring, comfortable hospitality with a touch of home along with many distinctive product and service innovations, such as the “Friends Hosting Friends” recognition program that has generated tremendous employee engagement scores and high overall guest satisfaction. Perhaps the most well-known and anticipated events in town is annual the Gasparilla Pirate Festival, a mock pirate invasion held since 1904 in late January or early February. Often referred to as Tampa’s “Mardi Gras,” the invasion flotilla led by the pirate ship, Jose Gasparilla, and subsequent parade draw over 400,000 attendees, contributing tens of millions of dollars to the city’s economy.
