Genevieve Gorder on the Country Inns & Suites Redesign
Thursday, April 18, 2013
Hey Guys! I’m so excited that Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM has asked me to partner with them as they roll out their beautiful new design.
There is a lot of change going on with a brand that I’ve personally known most of my life. Coming from Minnesota, Country Inns and Suites is a very familiar place and it’s the culture of this brand that will always remain familiar and constant as we move into a new world of aesthetics, a culture that is uniquely warm and kind. This is important, I do this for my own clients as we transform their homes, as long as there is some familiarity within their home, grandma’s throw, a sentimental photograph, new design always has an invitation.
Country Inns & Suites are introducing a new interior and exterior hotel design. You will start to see this as hotels embark on their scheduled renovations and updates and as new Country Inns & Suites hotels are built. What I love is that they didn’t stop there, a new brand look and feel is also joining the party as all of this lovely unfolds. As a designer, these types of details are what get us excited and make us happy as I hope they will for all of those coming to visit.
Major brands approach me to endorse their products all the time and when Country Inns & Suites asked me to work with them on the launch of their new look, I paused. If the design of their new roll out did not correlate with my own design sensibilities there would be a disconnect and a question of my own integrity. I have to be honest about who I partner with and what I’m representing as in the end, this matters to me AND the consumer.
Flash forward six months and a number of design review sessions with the Country team and we have created an incredible partnership. I have signed on to help them spread the word about their new look and feel. It’s clean, it’s natural, it’s warm and a new interpretation of what Country can be.
I’ll be back on Talk of the Country soon to share design insight about the new look of Country and some of my favorite travel tips.
I am provided with compensation for my endorsement for the Country Inns & Suites redesign; however, these opinions are my own.
