Genevieve Gorder on “Hit the Road Country”

Travel is definitely one of my biggest passions, and I’m blessed to be in an industry where traveling is pretty much required. I haven’t really counted in a while, but I’ve probably visited about 40 countries so far, and the list continues to grow. While my home is in New York City, that’s not to say I don’t have a long list of inspirational favorites that span the globe.
As part of Hit the Road Country this summer, I’m excited to share some of my own top spots, and hopefully inspire you to explore someplace new…
For example, Panama is a country I’ve never been to, which is probably why it is high on my list to visit. What I love about it is that it’s an up and coming vacation destination – like the next Costa Rica. Having a Country Inns & Suites right near the Canal is very progressive. Architecture is a reason to go somewhere and the Canal is one of the man-made wonders of the world.
My next top-spot would be Albuquerque. I spent a lot of my childhood in the New Mexico area at a family horse ranch. I like to think that New Mexico is America’s best kept secret— a land of incredible color and graphic detail, one that Georgia O’Keefe found irresistible, and one that I simply cannot get enough of.
Compelled by the idea of the Old West, Montana is the third destination on my list. It’s the ONE state in our country that I’ve never been to. I’ve heard the lore, the stories, and think it’s about time to complete my national journey. Billings would be my first stop. There’s a Country Inns & Suites located right near the heart of downtown, much of which is in the Yellowstone Valley, which has been on my bucket list for quite a while. Billings is also one of the destinations in the Peaks & Valleys itinerary as part of Hit the Road Country!
Hopefully my travels and must-hit destinations inspire some of your own summer journeys. So what are you waiting for?! Hit the road!
I am provided with compensation for my endorsement for the Country Inns & Suites redesign; however, these opinions are my own.
